SHCC SENIOR MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION BYLAWS
TITLE OF ASSOCIATION:
The name of this group shall be
SMOKY HILL COUNTY CLUB (SHCC) Senior Men’s Golf
. The purpose of this group shall be to foster and to support Senior Men’s Golf and to promote fellowship and fun in the game of golf.
ELIGIBILITY
:
Any full SHCC male member golfer with an established handicap who is at least 55 years of age may become a member of SHCC Senior Men’s golf upon payment of dues to SHCC Senior Men’s golf. Senior Men’s Golf membership dues and GHIN fees are for each calendar year.
Current active members of SHCC must pay their Senior Men’s golf dues on or before June 1st to be eligible to participate in the Senior Men’s Golf Club Championship. Current members must participate/play in at least 3 scheduled Senior Men’s events prior to September 1

to be eligible to participate in the Club Championship tournament.
If a new member of SHCC who joins SHCC on or after June 1st and wishes to join Senior Men's golf and wishes to be eligible to participate in the Senior Men’s Golf Club Championship, the new member must have paid their dues on or before August 1
st
of the current golf season.
When a new member of SHCC pays their Senior Men’s golf dues to join, regardless of time joined, they can play in any other event at any time
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The officers of SHCC Senior men’s golf shall be as follows:
President
Secretary-Treasurer
Member at large
Member at large
These officers shall constitute the Executive Committee and this committee will conduct the routine business, season schedule/events, and the fee structures of SHCC Senior men’s golf. The term of office for each officer shall be from the annual Fall closing meeting until the annual Fall meeting the following year. Each officer shall serve for one year and may be reelected by a majority vote of those present.
DUTIES OF THE ELECTED OFFICERS
The president: shall preside at all meetings and act as ex-officio member of all committees.
The secretary/treasurer: as secretary, shall keep an accurate record of all SHCC Senior men’s golf meetings, handle correspondence, and maintain current membership records. As secretary/treasurer, he shall keep a record of all receipts and an account of all disbursements. He shall receive all funds and pay all debts. Any major expenditure must be approved by the members of the Executive Committee.
The two members at large: will assist the president and secretary/treasurer in fulfilling and overseeing their duties to the members. They will assist with the weekly member signup duties, tournament and special event activities, and help with soliciting sponsor support.
If an office becomes vacant, the Executive Committee shall appoint a replacement from the active membership to serve the remainder of the term.
Scheduled weekly play, special events and tournaments will be scheduled by the Executive Committee with input and coordination from the SHCC Golf Professional or the Assistant Professional.
Officers shall set the season schedule and post on the SHCC web site.
Officers shall update changes to the schedule i.e. adverse weather shall be posted on the website and an email will be distributed to the Senior membership as soon as possible.
Officers shall tabulate scores of weekly and special events with the SHCC Golf Professional.
The Executive Committee shall manage all funds, expenses and prepare annual reports for the members.
MISCELLANIOUS
The bylaws may be amended at any time. It shall require a two-thirds majority vote of the members present at a scheduled meeting to approve an amendment.
